How to create and connect the ORCID iD to Cadmus, the EUI Research Repository

Getting started

This guide will walk you through how to create and connect your ORCID iD with Cadmus at the European University Institute (EUI). These are the steps that you must follow if you do not have an ORCID iD yet.

Estimated time: 5–10 minutes

Step 1: Access the ORCID connection page

Visit the ORCID connection page in Cadmus: Create and connect your ORCID to CADMUS

Enter your EUI email address and select "Create your ORCID id".

Step 2: Fill in your personal information

You’ll be redirected to the ORCID registration page. Enter your full name and confirm your email address.

Step 3: Create a password

Create a secure password to use with your ORCID account.

Step 4: Confirm affiliation with EUI

Review your affiliation. You can add more details about your role at EUI if needed.

Step 5: Set your visibility preferences

Select your preferred visibility setting:

  • Everyone (recommended)
  • Trusted parties
  • Only me

You can change this setting at any time from your ORCID profile.

Step 6: Accept terms and complete registration

Review and accept the Terms of Use, then submit the form to complete your ORCID registration.

Step 7: Authorise access to Cadmus

To complete the process, you’ll need to authorise Cadmus to access your ORCID iD. This allows your publications and profile to sync correctly.

Connection completed

After following these steps, you will see this message:

 

  • If you already have publications in Cadmus, they will be automatically pushed tomorrow to your ORCID profile.
  • If you have no publications in Cadmus yet, we will push them as soon as you will have some.
