Most of the Library's electronic resources are available from any EUI computer. EUI members and visitors may also use their personal laptops connected to the EUI Network to access eResources.
Authentication changes depending on whether you are on campus or off campus.
Single Sign-On with OpenAthens provides seamless and secure remote access to Library electronic resources.
Most subscribed electronic resources are seamlessly accessible via EUI Wi-Fi network when on campus.
Current EUI members can use either an EUI computer or a personal device connected to the EUI network.
The Library provides a limited number of desktop computers (EUI login required), several docking stations equipped with monitors.
External users may connect to the EUI Wi-Fi network using the credentials provided when authorised to access the Library. If not connected to the EUI WiFi, they may use 3 internet-only PCs for visitors.
External users and EUI Alumni may access electronic resources on campus only.
Remote access to the Library's subscribed eResources is restricted to current EUI members (researchers, fellows, course participants, faculty, and staff).
Accessing resources via the EUI Library Search or the Databases A-Z list, the links will prompt you to login via OpenAthens authentication. You will only need to authenticate once to start an eight-hour-long OpenAthens session. During that time, you will not be asked to authenticate again, regardless of the number of different content platforms you visit.This will still be active even if you continue your research via Google or any other search engine.
How to log in with OpenAthens:
Tip: If you sign in your Library account you will be prompted to authenticate with your EUI credentials.
Some resources may require additional authentication. In such cases, users must follow the specific instructions included in the resource’s catalogue record.
Remote access to licensed eResources will be suspended if users have reached the overdue fines limit or if their Library account has expired.
A limited number of resources are accessible only on campus or via VPN.
External users connected via the eduroam network (global roaming wireless service for higher education) are not entitled to access the EUI Library’s licensed eResources. They can use one of the 3 internet-only PCs located on the first floor of the Library or they may connect to the EUI Wi-Fi network using the credentials provided when authorised to access the Library.
EUI-Guest connection does not provide access to the EUI Library’s licensed eResources.
